Here we go! If you want to maintain the illusion that my hair is actually magical and glowy and long and blonde, look away now. XD

GOOD GOD THAT TOOK AGES. There are five pages of this monstrosity. Kudos and credit to

for the amazing beta job (she is incredible, all remaining mistakes are my own) and to Alice, my flatmate, for being that other person in Step Ten. Alice also deserves credit for putting up with me for the week it takes to make this wig. Seriously, it's hair everywhere, make sure no one is going to destroy you before you try this. And remember to clean up after yourself! XD

As it says in the tutorial this is NOT the easiest way to make this wig. Buying a bucketload of colour-matched extensions, for example, might be easier. I had no luck finding golden blonde extensions though (as opposed to ash, platinum, etc) and I am a pedantic little twit. You may have more luck than me though!

I really hope someone finds this useful. I'm posting it by popular demand and I've seen a lot of people wondering how to tackle it, so hopefully it'll come in handy! It's lovely to be able to feed back into a community that has given me so much. Please let me know if you have any questions - I'm happy to answer, and if there are a lot of them, I'll post a FAQ.

Please let me know if you use this tutorial - credit is optional (though appreciated), really I just want to see how others go! XD

Hmm, I might have to try this way for making my Rapunzel wig! It looks really good! Mine might have to be a bit longer though, I'm quite tall...

This is GORGEOUS. I really want to cosplay Rapunzel, but I'm a bit frightened. I'm absolutely horrendious with wigs, but 200 is a lot more acceptable than 500. ;A;

I did have a question for you, though. How tall are you? I only ask because I'm EXTREMELY short. 4'10" and a 1/2. o__O Or 148.59cm (not sure how you measure there). Do you think I'd need 5 wigs or would 4 wigs pass for me? Thanks so much.

omg thanks for giving me the cms too, I literally have no idea in feet. I'm about 167cms, think? So I'd say you're probably pretty safe with 4 (especially since I had some left over for repairs too).

were your extensions wefted? if not how did you connect them to the wig(s)?

Do you mean the long crimped extensions? I wefted them (sort of) by using caulk. You could probably achieve the same with other wefting methods (such as sewing), I was just most confident this particular way. It's up to you!

Here I am, thanking you more than a year after I first saw your amazing tutorial! The thing is, I didn't have a youtube account at that time, so I didn't have the chance to let you know how much it helped me. Rapunzel's braid has been my very first attempt at styling a wig and, let's face it, it wouldn't have been possible without your tutorial. I've made my own adjustments, cause I couldn't spend too much money, but the basics are yours. I'm sorry for my english... I hope at least half of what I wrote is comprehensible XD Anyway... thank you sooo much for sharing *-*
